Privacy Policy

Last updated August 20, 2026

This policy explains what Hired.vi collects, why, and what control you have over it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What we collect

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and password, stored as a one-way hash that nobody at Hired.vi can reverse or read.

If you build a candidate profile, we collect what you choose to put in it: your headline, summary, island, work history, education, skills, certifications, availability, and any resume you upload.

If you create an employer account, we collect your company details, the listings you post, and your billing records.

We also record ordinary technical information: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your network address, browser type, and referring site.

Who sees your resume

Your resume is not published, indexed, or browsable. It is visible only to an employer whose job you applied to, and to platform administrators for support and abuse investigation. Resume files are served through an access-controlled script rather than a public folder, so the file address alone will not open it.

If you switch your profile to discoverable, employers can find your profile in candidate search. You can turn that off at any time in your profile settings, and turning it off is immediate.

What employers see when you apply

Your name, contact details, profile, resume, and any message you wrote. They also see the status they have assigned your application. They do not see other jobs you applied to, other employers you contacted, or anything you saved.

Email

We send transactional email: verification, password reset, application confirmations, status changes, and job alerts you asked for. Every alert email includes a link to stop it. We do not sell or rent your email address.

Advertising

Sponsored placements are sold directly by us. We count impressions and clicks in our own database to report performance to advertisers. We do not run third-party ad networks, behavioral retargeting, or cross-site tracking pixels, and we do not hand your profile data to advertisers.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and a token to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. If analytics are enabled, they are aggregate and not tied to your profile.

Your control

You can edit or delete your profile content, replace or remove your resume, unsubscribe from alerts, and request deletion of your account by contacting us. When you delete your account we remove your profile, resume files, and saved jobs. Applications you already submitted may remain with the employer who received them, since that record is theirs as well as yours.

Security

Passwords are hashed. Database access uses prepared statements. Uploads are validated by actual file content rather than by file name. No system is perfect, and we will tell you directly and promptly if something happens that affects your data.

Children

Hired.vi is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that meaningfully affects you, we will say so on the site rather than quietly updating the date at the top.

Contact

Questions about any of this go to hello@hired.vi.

This is a plain-language policy, not a substitute for review by counsel. Have an attorney review it against your actual data practices before launch.
